C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. (CWR) was awarded at the 2018 National Asphalt Pavement Association conference held in San Diego, California. CWR received five awards within the Quality in Construction award program, which recognized high-quality projects and excellence in the asphalt paving industry.
NAPA awarded the following projects in which delivered noteworthy performance and safety to the traveling public:
- Work on SR 81 in Walton County, Florida. CWR used best practices to meet all the project specifications throughout the milling and paving operations. It employed a material transfer vehicle and an asphalt paver with skis and slope control to produce a smooth asphalt pavement with as little disruption as possible to the traffic and businesses along the route.
- Work on CR 466 in Fruitland Park, Florida. CWR widened the road, placing a 1-inch base, a 1-inch leveling course, a 1.5-inch binder course, and a 1-inch surface.
- Work on SR 20 in Leon County and Ebro, Florida. The company worked at night with limited lane closures to minimize disruption to traffic in the area. Challenges included several different milling depths along the route and forty side connections that were included in the project length.
- Work on 3.8 miles of SR 59 in Jefferson County, Florida. CWR milled and resurfaced the road and widened its shoulders.
“We are honored to receive these respected awards”, said Christopher Riley, area manager of CWR. “Recognition from NAPA demonstrates our continuous hard work by our employees on delivering successful projects and high-quality material to our clients”.
Winners were honored and announced during the NAPA Quality in Construction award ceremony on February 14th, 2018.
